Laptop (Li-ion) Battery guide

How to properly CALIBRATE a Lithium-Ion (Laptop) Battery
Here’s how you properly calibrate a new laptop battery to get the absolute longest runtime and life from it:
  1. Disconnect your laptop from the mains (AC)
  2. Insert the battery into your laptop
  3. Switch on your laptop but boot into the BIOS (this is usually done by repeating tapping F2 during the boot process)! DO NOT BOOT WINDOWS/LINUX/MAC as the ACPI Power Management software will incorrectly condition your battery! (It will detect the battery as being depleted long before it actually is.
  4. CRITICAL: Set the BRIGHTNESS of your laptop’s screen to MINIMUM (virtually all laptops allow you to do this via the keyboard)… If you don’t do this, your battery will be calibrated incorrectly.
  5. Allow the laptop to run (remaining in the BIOS and disconnected from the mains) until the battery dies. Don’t be alarmed when the laptop turns off suddenly and without warning, this is exactly what we want.
  6. Now connect your laptop to the mains (AC) and leave it switched off. You should have an indicator light SOMEWHERE on your laptop to inform you that it is charging, and one would hope that light would change its state to indicate a full battery.
Repeat the above steps about 3 or 4 times (as I said, not a quick process)…
Assuming you’ve done exactly what I suggested above, your battery should now give you its absolute maximum runtime capacity!
IMPORTANT: It is worth trying this process with your existing laptop battery, even if you don’t suspect any degradation in its runtime capacity… you may be surprised to gain as much as 35% extra runtime between recharges!
How to properly MAINTAIN a Lithium-Ion (Laptop) Battery
Now that you know how to PROPERLY condition a Lithium-Ion (Laptop) battery, how should you maintain it to ensure you don’t end up buying replacement batteries year after year? Well, here’s how I do it (and I’ve only ever had to  replace 1 laptop battery… that includes laptops I’ve had now for more than 5 years)
  1. NEVER (and I mean NEVER) store a laptop battery with less than 50% of its charge (in fact, 50% charge is ideal for storage… so try to ensure your battery is as close to 50% as possible, though slightly over isn’t so bad)
  2. NEVER store your laptop battery within the laptop itself for more than a few days! If you do, the battery will be slowly drained… this will (if left for too long, or done to frequentlyde-condition your battery… perhaps drain it to the point where it can no longer be recharged (as I witnessed with a friend who stored his laptop battery inside the laptop, unused for 3 months)
  3. NEVER store a laptop battery in cold conditions (if the temperature is uncomfortably cold for you, it’s generally too cold for a laptop battery)… this will actually damage the Lithium-Ion battery irreparably, and the longer you leave it in such conditions, the less capacity the battery will hold… eventually holding nothing!
  4. NEVER short-circuit a battery (any battery)…. you’d be an idiot to do so, but it’s worth saying it again!
  5. NEVER disassemble a battery (any battery) unless you are certified to do soREMEMBER, Lithium-Ion batteries are potentially explosive. They contain alkalies which are hazardous to the human body (ESPECIALLY if inhaled). A ruptured Lithium-Ion cell could potentially (spontaneously) catch fire! Don’t think that, just because you can work a soldering iron on a piece of stripboard, it makes you qualified or savvy enough to safely disassemble a battery pack! PEOPLE HAVE DIED TRYING TO DO SO!
  6. NEVER submerge a laptop battery in any liquid (goes without saying)
  7. AVOID shock of any kind… in-particular electric-shockover-vaulting, under-vaulting, charging with an incorrect power block, power-surges… but also physical shock (dropping it)
  8. ALWAYS fully discharge your laptop battery at least once per month (run the laptop, under normal conditions, without being connected to the mains [AC])… immediately recharge the laptop at least to 50% when your laptop battery has died. The most common cause of battery depletion is that the laptop has been connected to the mains for weeks (sometimes months, even years) without being run on the battery. Keep in mind that your battery is not being charged when the Smart Chip (within the battery) believes it is charged. This means that a “fully charged” laptop battery being run inside a laptop connected to the mains is actually slowly discharging; because the mains is providing a sufficient current to the laptop, it never bothers to re-test the battery to see if it is in need of charging…. the end result is your battery becomes flat (0% charged) and will not accept much (if any) charge in the future.
  9. ALWAYS ensure that you recharge your laptop battery ASAP after running it on the battery beyond 50% of its available capacity.
  10. ALWAYS recondition your battery at least once per year (see the section above for steps on how to do that)
If you follow all of this advice, there’s no reason you should be replacing any Lithium-Ion battery within the first 2 or 3 years (perhaps even longer) of owning it.

Graviola (Soursop) fruit - Cancer killer

“10000 times stronger killer of CANCER than Chemo”.. do share it.. can save many lives, fill up hopes and build confidence in the patients…

The Sour Sop or the fruit from the graviola tree is a miraculous natural cancer cell killer 10,000 times stronger than Chemo.

Why are we not aware of this? Its because some big corporation want to make back their money spent on years of research by trying to make a synthetic version of it for sale.

So, since you know it now you can help a friend in need by letting him know or just drink some sour sop juice yourself as prevention from time to time. The taste is not bad after all. It’s completely natural and definitely has no side effects. If you have the space, plant one in your garden.
The other parts of the tree are also useful.

The next time you have a fruit juice, ask for a sour sop.

How many people died in vain while this billion-dollar drug maker concealed the secret of the miraculous Graviola tree?

This tree is low and is called graviola ! in Brazi l, guanabana in Spanish and has the uninspiring name “soursop” in English. The fruit is very large and the subacid sweet white pulp is eaten out of hand or, more commonly, used to make fruit drinks, sherbets and such.

The principal interest in this plant is because of its strong anti-cancer effects. Although it is effective for a number of medical conditions, it is its anti tumor effect that is of most interest. This plant is a proven cancer remedy for cancers of all types.

Besides being a cancer remedy, graviola is a broad spectrum antimicrobial agent for both bacterial and fungal infections, is effective against internal parasites and worms, lowers high blood pressure and is used for depression, stress and nervous disorders.

If there ever was a single example that makes it dramatically clear why the existence of Health Sciences Institute is so vital to Americans like you, it’s the incredible story behind the Graviola tree..

The truth is stunningly simple: Deep within the Amazon Rainforest grows a tree that could literally revolutionize what you, your doctor, and the rest of the world thinks about cancer treatment and chances of survival. The future has never looked more promising.

Research shows that with extracts from this miraculous tree it now may be possible to:
* Attack cancer safely and effectively with an all-natural therapy that does not cause extreme nausea, weight loss and hair loss
* Protect your immune system and avoid deadly infections
* Feel stronger and healthier throughout the course of the treatment
* Boost your energy and improve your outlook on life

The source of this information is just as stunning: It comes from one of America ‘s largest drug manufacturers, th! e fruit of over 20 laboratory tests conducted since the 1970′s! What those tests revealed was nothing short of mind numbing… Extracts from the tree were shown to:

* Effectively target and kill malignant cells in 12 types of cancer, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreatic cancer..
* The tree compounds proved to be up to 10,000 times stronger in slowing the growth of cancer cells than Adriamycin, a commonly used chemotherapeuti c drug!
* What’s more, unlike chemotherapy, the compound extracted from the Graviola tree selectivelyhunt s
down and kills only cancer cells.. It does not harm healthy cells!

The amazing anti-cancer properties of the Graviola tree have been extensively researched–so why haven’t you heard anything about it? If Graviola extract is

One of America ‘s biggest billion-dollar drug makers began a search for a cancer cure and their research centered on Graviola, a legendary healing tree from the Amazon Rainforest.

Various parts of the Graviola tree–including the bark, leaves, roots, fruit and fruit-seeds–hav e been used for centuries by medicine men and native Indi! ans in S outh America to treat heart disease, asthma, liver problems and arthritis. Going on very little documented scientific evidence, the company poured money and resources into testing the tree’s anti-cancerous properties–and were shocked by the results. Graviola proved itself to be a cancer-killing dynamo.
But that’s where the Graviola story nearly ended.

The company had one huge problem with the Graviola tree–it’s completely natural, and so, under federal law, not patentable. There’s no way to make serious profits from it.

It turns out the drug company invested nearly seven years trying to synthesize two of the Graviola tree’s most powerful anti-cancer ingredients. If they could isolate and produce man-made clones of what makes the Graviola so potent, they’d be able to patent it and make their money back. Alas, they hit a brick wall. The original simply could not be replicated. There was no way the company could protect its profits–or even make back the millions it poured into research.

As the dream of huge profits evaporated, their testing on Graviola came to a screeching halt. Even worse, the company shelved the entire project and chose not to publish the findings of its research!

Miracle unleashed
When researchers at the Health Sciences Institute were alerted to the news of Graviola,! they be gan tracking the research done on the cancer-killing tree. Evidence of the astounding effectiveness of Graviola–and its shocking cover-up–came in fast and furious….

….The National Cancer Institute performed the first scientific research in 1976. The results showed that Graviola’s “leaves and stems were found effective in attacking and destroying malignant cells.” Inexplicably, the results were published in an internal report and never released to the public…

….A study published in the Journal of Natural Products, following a recent study conducted at Catholic University of South Korea stated that one chemical in Graviola was found to selectively kill colon cancer cells at “10,000 times the potency of (the commonly used chemotherapy drug) Adriamycin…”

…A study at Purdue University recently found that leaves from the Graviola tree killed cancer cells among six human cell lines and were especially effective against prostate, pancreatic and lung cancers.

I had testicle cancer and it spread through my body before it could be removed. I needed surgery and chemotherapy but I could not afford it because I didn’t have health insurance. I traveled to Costa Rica and got the surgery that I needed done but I still needed the chemo. A doctor recommended that I eat this fruit daily and drink the leaves of the tree as a tea. After a month of this herbal treatment all my tests came back negative for cancer and that I no longer would need chemotherapy.

One of my Aunts was effected with cancer . She only found it out in her 3rd stage and docs told her she could not survive...
She and her husband decided to have "macrobiotic foods" she also said she regularly had ginger and garlic and she tried to eat food which made her blood Alkeline ... IT worked.. She is safe now and doctors did not even tell anything about it...

Vaastu Defects And their Effects

Any energy is a flow of a field from a higher potential to the lower. This can be mechanical, electrical or cosmic. The laws are the same. A plot represents both the positive and negative forces in a balanced sphere. This balance gets disturbed when the structure is placed in it. A balance in a plot is achieved when the positive and negative parts of the plot has an equal potential.

(Fig1)
Here the north and east portions represent the positive field and the south and west portions represent the negative field. Granting that the level in the plot is uniform we have a well-balanced plot.
An imbalance between the two fields can be created by the following methods.
1) Increasing the level of any sector weakens that sector.
2) Reducing the level by taking away the earth increases the strength of that particular sector.
3) Creating extensions increases the area of that particular sector thereby increasing the strength of that particular sector.
4) Water bodies enhance the strength of that particular sector
Let us understand the concepts more clearly with the help of these figures.

(Fig 2)

(Fig 3)
In fig (2), you find that the level of the positive sector is higher in comparison to the negative sector. Because of this the strength of the positive field decreases and the negative increases. In this case energy flows from the negative portion to the positive portion. In essence the plot therefore has, what is known as the ‘negative energy’ flow.
See the fig (3) where the higher level is in the negative sector. In this case, the energy flows from the positive to negative side and hence the plot has a natural ‘positive’ energy flow.
Reducing the level again results in the same impact as explained in Fig (2) and (3).

(Fig 4)
If the plot extends in a positive direction then the area covered by the positive portion increases and provided the level is uniform, the flow of energy takes place from the sector, which has the extended corner towards the other side.
See fig (4). Here the northeast portion is extended. Hence the field area of the positive sector is more. If the level is uniform, the flow takes place from the positive side to the negative resulting in a positive energy plot.

(Fig 5)
The reverse happens in case the negative portion extends. See fig (5). As the negative sector is more powerful, a negative current flows towards the positive turning the energy flow pattern into ‘negative’.
A water body basically represents a depression. Water can collect only when a portion of the land is depressed or is at a lower level.

(Fig 6-a)

(Fig 6-b)

(Fig 6-c)
See Fig (6-a).A water body in the ‘positive’ sector makes the positive half more powerful, resulting in a ‘positive’ flow.
See Fig (6-b).Same effect is achieved if a heavy body like a rock is in southwest.
See Fig (6-c).A water body in the negative sector increases the negativity of that sector resulting in a ‘negative flow’.

Vaasthu For Buildings

So far we have discussed the positive and negative features of plots. We will now see how the constructional aspects of the building affect the flow.
It should be noted that the plot can only generate a positive field if the plot confirms to Vaasthu. But the building should be constructed in such a manner that it receives the flow thus generated. So we see that actually there are two aspects in the construction of buildings. One, the plot which should generate a positive field and second, the building which should receive the field inside. Technically therefore it is possible to have a powerful field but a wrong structure could make the complete Vaasthu ineffective. Conversely it possible to have a building exactly confirming to Vaasthu but on a wrong plot which again nullifies the Vaasthu effects. Same analogy applies for the buildings too. To get the Vaasthu benefits, therefore, the plot must generate a strong field and the structure must be so designed as to receive it. Only then the Vaasthu benefits will reach the residents.

(Fig 7)

(Fig 8)

See (Fig 7). Here the plot is as per Vaasthu and the building, which is on the ground floor, is properly placed to receive the positive energy.
See (Fig 8) the building covers the positive sector, thereby weakening it and the wrong sectors are opened up, making them stronger. In this case the building receives a negative flow and granting that the building is as per Vaasthu, the benefits of Vaasthu to the residents do not follow.

(Fig 10)

(Fig 11)

(Fig 12)

(Fig 13)
In Fig (10).It shows a building in which the toilet is present in the northeast corner. Defecation and fecal matter arrests the positive flow with the result that the building becomes Vaastu negative.

In Fig (11) we have a staircase in the northeast corner. Again weight here arrests the flow inside the structure.

In Fig (12), a store closing the northeast corner negates the flow.

In Fig (13), a kitchen comes in the way of the structure receiving the positive current. Heat in this sector virtually nullifies all the positive currents.

(Fig 14)

(Fig 15)

(Fig 16)

( Fig 17)
In Fig (14), a bathroom comes in the way of the structure receiving the positive current. Heat in this sector virtually nullifies all the positive currents.

A higher floor level in northeast sector of the building as shown in fig (15) again prevents the flow from taking place.

Wrong entry or exit doors in the north-northwest, the south-southwest, the west-southwest and the east-southeast disrupts the flow of energy inside a structure. The effect is more pronounced if they are single doors. The effect gets reduced somewhat if there is another door in the northeast sector of the building.
In fig (17) the floor levels are lower in the southwest sector. Here again the energy flow does not take place.

One should note that the terms ‘entry’ door or ‘main’ door and ‘exit’ door or ‘back’ door are relative terms, which is used only for identification purposes. The flow can always take place from northeast to southwest. Whether your plot faces north/east or south/west, the direction of the flow remains the same. Only in case of west and south-facing plots, the entry door for the forces are at the back of the building whereas for north/east-facing plots, the entry door is in the front of the building as far as forces are concerned.

(Fig 18
)
Fig (19) shows the levels and placements of the various utilities inside the structure to get the best Vaastu benefits. Here you see that openings are kept in the northeast sector readily allowing the energy to easily enter. A depressed level here sucks the current making a strong field inside.

The kitchen in the southeast and toilet and bath in the northwest aid the flow to reach all sectors in full strength. The bedrooms are placed in the southwest, west and the south where abundant reflected bioenergy ensures the health of the members of the family.

The kitchen in the southeast and toilet and bath in the northwest aid the flow to reach all sectors in full strength. The bedrooms are placed in the southwest, west and the south where abundant reflected bioenergy ensures the health of the members of the family.

We will now see how the first floor and subsequent floors can suffer from Vaastu defects. A first floor has no periphery. Thus the fact that you have a very good northeast current in the ground floor is of no consequence here. The plot of the first floor is the roof of the ground floor. Thus to have good Vaastu benefits we need to provide low level open terraces in the northeast sector so that sufficient energy to sustain the requirement of the first floor building is generated in the open roof area. Necessarily the balconies and open terraces are to come towards the north, east and the northeast.

(Fig 19
)

(Fig 20)
(Fig 21)
Here the building abuts on the Southwest corner leaving sufficient open space in north and east. Provided the structure conforms to Fig (19) we have a perfect house, which abides by Vaastu and its principles. See fig (20)
See fig (21). Here we have balconies in the north-northwest or the west-southwest or the south-southwest or east-southeast. If there are no balancing balconies in the northeast sector, then the house has defective Vaastu.

(Fig 22
)

(Fig 23)

(Fig 24)

( Fig 25)
Fig (22) shows a structure with an extension in north, towards the northwest and empty space in the northeast. This results in a negative flow as firstly, the energy giving sector is missing and secondly the extension liberates negative field.
Extension of the building in the east-southeast (Fig 23), the south-southwest (Fig 24) and the west-southwest (Fig 25) again results in the same phenomenon as explained for Fig 22.

(Fig 26)

(Fig 27)

(Fig 28)

( Fig 29)
Fig 26, 27, 28 and 29 show open roofs in the wrong sectors.

(Fig 30-a)

(Fig 30-b)
As already stated open roofs are energy liberating. If they are open in the wrong sector, then the negative field becomes strong. In all these cases, the structure suffers from poor Vaastu.
Fig 30(a) a north to south Fig 30 (b) or from north to south can effectively stop the flow of energy as higher levels in the roof weakens that particular sector. In a roof, which slopes from east to west, the roof level is higher in the east than in the west. The southwest becomes more powerful in this case and the northeast is weakened which results in the structure turning negative. Same results follow if the roof is high in the north and low in the south.

Effects Of The Defects
We have now seen the defects that can occur in structures. We shall now see the effects of these defects. The effects vary depending on the purpose for which the building in question in used and the vulnerability of the individual concerned.

For example, a defective northeast in an industry can bring about production problems, whereas the same defect in a business house could lead to depressed sales. If this defect is present in a residence then it could cause health problems among the residents.

Again it is seen that a defect need not have the same effect on every family. For example, a kitchen in the northeast may aggravate the health problem of the eldest female in one house, but may act on the health of a male member in another house, while another may need a surgery following an accident.

Similarly a toilet in northeast can result in severe financial losses for a businessman who uses his residence partly for official purposes too. Whereas the same defect in the case of a houses of a bank employee fails to produce any financial distress on him because the latter is simply not vulnerable to this defect.

Thus a Vaastu defect in a building can affect its users differently depending on their own vulnerability. It is, therefore, important to analyse the defect in relation to the vulnerability factor and proceed further only if there are individuals who are vulnerable to the effects.

Some simple tips for happy home

Follow the under mentioned tenets of Vaasthu in their day to day lives and lead comfortable lives:

*      In order to ensure proper health to the head of the west of the house is less when compared to that of east so as to ensure that the eldest male member or the family head returns home early.

*
It should be ensure that the vacant space to the west of the house is less when compared to that of east so as to ensure that the eldest male member or the family head returns home early.

*
Almirahs and cupboards must be placed in southwest either facing north or east. However, a section of experts on Vaasthu hold that northeast is the best place for placing valuables like money, gold and jewellery apart from deities. They suggest that almirahs containing money and gold jewelry must be placed in northeast. But these people seem to have forgotten the fact that heavier objects should never be placed in northeast.

*
Drinking water pots should not be placed exclusively in northeastern corner or abutting eastern or northern walls. They should be placed directly on the floor in east or north and no platform should be built for that purpose. In case the pot is proposed to be placed in southwest a platform or pial can be constructed.

*
Water tank above the ground level can be placed in south east or southwest but under ground tank should be placed only in northern or eastern northeast.

*
Wastewater emanating from the kitchen should not be allowed to flow towards southeast, south or west. It should flow towards east and north from a debilitated position.

*
The hearth or oven must be arranged in eastern south east of the entire house in such a way that the person cooking faces east. It should not be arranged in a shelf in the eastern wall as it amounts to extending eastern southeast which is bad feature.

*
The structure of building should be such that it should be higher in south and west than in north and east.  *      Sufficient number of doors and windows must be provided to a house duly ensuring that no doors or windows are placed in southern or western southwest.

*
Broom sticks, pestles and other domestic objects must be kept only in southwestern corner and never in northeast.  *      Refrigerators, during tables, sofa sets, shoe racks etc., must be placed in southern and western rooms alongside southern or western wall.

*
Double cots or other types of cots must be arranged in bedrooms in such a way that the vacant space in east and north is more when compared to west and south.

*
TV. antenna must be erected in southwest.

*
Dry grinders, wet grinders, mixers and others heavier gadgets must be kept alongside southern, western or south-western walls or towards southwest in the respective rooms as per convenience.

*
Folding cots or other cots, which are not in use, must be kept only alongside southern or western walls.

*
Construction of first floor in the western part of the terrace reduces the work load of the family head in his vocation and improves the chances of his career advancement.
*      While sleeping body should be turned towards left.  While sleeping one should place one’s head towards south to enjoy good health. One should never place ones head towards north even if the same is suggested by most of the people as it spoils the health.
